Consultation will be open for 21 days, between Thursday 10 April and Wednesday 30 April 2025.

Once feedback has been collated and considered, a design will be finalised in early May 2025. Construction is anticipated to commence in mid-2025.

We have designed to a budget of $150,000, and any proposed changes would need to consider this budget amount.

The playspace is reaching end of asset life, and is due for renewal. In addition, the proximity of the existing playspace has started to impact a significant tree. The new playspace will be designed to minimise this impact.

The natural setting of Partridge House presents the opportunity to replace the existing structures with a nature based playspace, utilising natural materials and colours to be more in-keeping with the natural setting. As per Council’s 2019-29 Playspace Action Plan, Council strives to provide a variety of play options within the City of Holdfast Bay.

The playspace will remain in the same location with the layout of the play equipment removing any impact to the tree root zone of the significant tree.

Any proposed changes would need to consider budget, maintenance, product availability, and practicality. Any concerns raised will be addressed and considered in finalising the design and delivery of the playspace.

Feedback regarding the type of nature-based play structures and associated play value will be considered.

Given the surrounding infrastructure within the Partridge House precinct, the playspace's location will not be altered from the concepts provided.

The results from this engagement will be collated and used to inform the final design outcomes. All personal details provided will be removed from any council reports.

Results from this engagement will be used to inform the final plans of the renewal. Once the consultation phase is completed, detailed designs will be undertaken and then construction will take place in mid-2025. Specific dates will be provided once confirmed with the contractor.
